In order to enroll in the CMT Program, you must become an Affiliate member of the Market Technicians Association. Once you join as an Affiliate member you can enroll in the program and register for the exam.
*Program enrollment fee is a one-time fee that allows you to sit for the CMT Exams

The 2017 curriculum will be available for purchase through Wiley and Amazon in January 2017.

Scheduling Your Exam
Once you complete your exam registration you will be redirected to the Prometric website to schedule your exam. The name you use to register for the exam must match what is on your primary form of identification. To schedule your exam at Prometric, click here.
You will receive a confirmation containing the date and time of your exam and the location of the test center. Please print a copy of the confirmation and bring it with you to the testing center.

Day of Your Exam
You will be required to present one valid, government-issued photo ID with a signature (e.g., driver’s license or passport). If you are testing outside of your country of citizenship, you must present a valid passport. If you testing within your country of citizenship, you must present either a valid passport, driver’s license, national ID or military ID. The identification document must be in Latin characters and contain your photograph and signature. All other personal items must be locked in a locker for test security purposes, so please limit what you bring to the testing center.
Candidates should bring a simple calculator to the test center. The testing center will supply two pencils and paper upon request.
Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment to allow to for check-in procedures. If you are late in arriving, you will not be allowed to test and will forfeit your exam fee.
At certain Prometric test center locations, you will need to pay for parking, including cash only parking lots.
Candidates who register before the standard registration period may request a cancellation of their exam and will be eligible for up to a full refund within two weeks of payment. Candidates registering after February 28, 2017, may request a cancellation of their exam and will be eligible for a refund minus the test center administration fees within two days of payment.
You must provide a confirmation of your cancellation from Prometric to receive your refund.
Test Center Security
For US Test Centers Only: Prometric takes our role of providing a secure test environment seriously. During the check-in process, we inspect any and all eyeglasses, jewelry and other accessories to look for camera devices that could be used to capture exam content.
You will be required to remove your eyeglasses for close visual inspection. These inspections will take a few seconds and will be done at check-in and again upon return from breaks before you enter the testing room to ensure you do not violate any security protocol.
Jewelry outside of wedding and engagement rings is prohibited. Please do not wear other jewelry to the test center. Hair accessories, ties and bowties are subject to inspection. Please refrain from using ornate clips, combs, barrettes, headbands, tie clips, cuff links and other hair accessories as you may be prohibited from wearing them into the testing room and asked to store them in your locker. Violation of security protocol may result in the confiscation of prohibited devices and termination of your exam.
The MTA will now provide candidates the opportunity to ensure their upcoming exam with the purchase of a pre-scheduled retake exam date. The retake insurance is available at the time of registration at reduced cost; $100 on Level I and $150 on Level II. There is no insurance retake option for Level III.
Candidates who are unsuccessful in their exam will have the opportunity to sit for a retake of the same level exam from during a designated window of that administration. The retake exam is offered for $150 on Level I and $225 on Level II if purchased after results are provided. There is no immediate retake option for Level III.
Retake exam dates for the April 2017 administration are June 26-28, 2017.
