The S&P rallied 6.37% yesterday. The Dow was up 5.80% and the NASDAQ Composite gained 7.07%. Jason Goepfert at Sentimentrader notes that this was the first time in 27 years that the market closed at a new low then rallied enough to close above the 5 prior closes. The last time, 1982, marked the end of the bear market as did 1942. Otherwise the situation led to multi-week rallies...
