Seattle Regional Seminar

As we head into 2013, the question of how to compensate for sideways global equities market must be answered. More than half of 2012 was lost. Gold, Crude, have also seen lackluster performance. Short term yields are still under FED control. And global inflation is rising with a vengeance. Will markets finally trend upward or will the lost decade turn into a lost generation for stocks? Is there prosperity on the horizon or are we in for another lost decade?

The 2012 MTA will analyze the global assets (commodities, currencies, bonds and equities), review linkages in the complex Intermarket picture and lay a road map for bankers, fund managers, investors and traders to navigate the remaining decade. The conference will cover the following aspects:

  • Gold, time to buy or sell?
  • Dollar, is the resurrection for real?
  • Will the Euro survive?
  • Are we in a decade of extreme oil?
  • Global market outlook, what to expect in the next three years?
  • Market, Business and Performance Cycles
  • Hedging and Risk Management Strategies
  • Trading-Arbitrage Setup

Stan EhrlichTom McClellan
Tom McClellan is the editor of the twice-monthly McClellan Market Report newsletter and its companion Daily Edition. He is a 1982 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy where he studied aerospace engineering, and he served 11 years in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot. Tom was raised in a household where study of the stock market was an ongoing pursuit. His parents Sherman and Marian McClellan created the McClellan Oscillator and McClellan Summation Index in 1969, and they were awarded the MTA's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Tom began his own study of the markets while he was still in the Army, and in 1993 he left the Army to join his father in pursuing a new career doing this type of analysis. Tom views the movements of prices in the financial market through the eyes of an engineer, which allows him to focus on what the data really say rather than interpreting events according to the same "conventional wisdom" used by other analysts. Timer Digest ranks Tom as the #1 Gold Timer for the 10-year period ending in December 2009. He is their #6 stock market timer and #3 bond timer as of May 31, 2010. Tom lives in Lakewood, WA, and is one of the co-honchos of the Puget Sound MTA Chapter.
