When is the CMT exam Held?

The exams for all three levels are administered twice a year, once during May and again in October. It is important to remember that candidates may take only one exam per administration.

A special religious dispensation date will be offered on Monday, May 6, 2013 to candidates who provide written notice from their place a worship requesting accommodation.

How do I enroll in the CMT Program?

Before you register for a CMT exam, you must first enroll in the CMT Program. To do so, follow these 5 steps:

1. Click the ShopMTA button in the upper left corner of the website.
2. Select "Go >>" under the heading CMT Program & CMT Exam Registration. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to login here.
3. Press the register button next to CMT Program Fee
4. Follow the prompts until you enter your credit card information and successfully check out.
5. Return to this section of the shopping cart to register for an Exam!

How do I register for an exam?

After you've enrolled in the CMT Program, you may register for a CMT exam. At the conclusion of your registration, you will be redirected to the Prometric website (our outside test administration center) to schedule your exam.

To register for the CMT Exam, just follow these 5 simple steps.

1. Click the ShopMTA button in the upper left corner of the website.
2. Select "Go >>" under the heading CMT Program & CMT Exam Registration. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to login here.
3. Click on the link that says Charter Information at the bottom of the window.
4. Select the exam that you are eligible for and follow the prompts. After your payment is accepted, remember to click on the Prometric link to be redirected to their website.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to reserve a seat at your desired location. (Enter Market Technicians Association into the search bar and then select your desired location from the drop down menus).

When scheduling, you will see a calendar with specific dates and times. If you do not see any dates highlighted, it means that the site is full. If convenient, please try another site or contact the MTA at 646-652-3300.

Registration Closing Dates

Registration for all levels of the exam will close on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013 at 12 PM EDT.
