Attention MTA Members:
The Charlotte MTA Chapter invites you to our next meeting on Tuesday July 13 at 6 PM in Ballantyne Corporate Park. This will be a free event for members, and we invite you to bring a guest. Sandwiches and salads will be provided along with beverages. Kirk Northington will present on the topic of using volatility measurement as a vital part of technical analysis and trading. There will be focus on key parts of Kirk's recently published book Volatility-Based Technical Analysis; one of the Wiley Trading Series. To see this type of technical analysis in action MetaSwing will be shown live. MetaSwing is the commercially available trading system based solely on basic volatility measuring mathematics.
Points of interest will include:
• Why volatility-based technical analysis (VBTA) is important in today's markets
• How VBTA differs from current and past forms of technical analysis
• Simple indicator techniques that improve trading performance
• Particular attention will be focused on volatility-based support and resistance, with live examples. Kirk previously presented for the MTA Educational Web Series on the topic of VB support and resistance.
• Also featured will be statistically valid back-test results for many of the methods shown.
We hope to have a lively Q&A amongst members after the presentation.
